Endless Ocean

Endless Ocean

My second studio recording, Endless Ocean, is an EP consisting of 5 tracks.  After two years in the making, I am very pleased with the outcome.  Starting in May of 2008,          I began demoing songs I had written over the past couple of years.  One song in particular, "Endless Ocean," really resonated with me; it is a simple song with an array of depth and meaning.  This song casted a vision for a recording project that would feature a string section.  Around that time, I had met a young composer by the name of Christian Henderson Traylor.  Having heard some of his musical arrangements at a wedding, I felt led to meet him and work with him.  Christian arranged the strings for Endless Ocean and orchestrated the recording of the string group, Quartet Offensive, to perform his arrangements.  My hope for this project is that others experience truth and meaning through this music and rediscover the deep yearnings of the heart.

Endless Ocean was made possible through the efforts of numerous people.  My friends, Joel Blackburn and Larry Woodruff, added the rhythm section on "Tomorrow is Forever" and "What Do I Know?"  Nicholas Alan played piano on "Weight of the World."  James Patke recorded a few of the demos for this project and engineered the recording of the bass and drums.  Alex Davis was the recording engineer for the strings.  Johnny Ragin did a stellar job mixing and mastering the five songs on the EP while providing additional production on selected tracks.  The cover design was created by Jason Harwell.  The cover photography was taken by Hassel Weems.  Special thanks to Thom Benson and the Tennessee Aquarium for allowing us the privilege to take photos at the aquarium.  Thank you to my friends and family for your love and support and to our dogs, Petey and Walle, for sitting with me while I write and record.  Most of all, I would like to thank my beautiful wife, Kim, for being an inspiration to me and for joining me in this journey.
